Li Dongsheng Sacked to Enable Prosecution of Zhou Yongkang?
The Chinese State Council fired Vice Minister of Public
Security, Li Dongsheng.
The Communist state media said that Li was removed for
“serious violations of laws and regulations”.
Li Dongsheng is known as a Zhou Yongkang loyalist,
the former Secretary of the Central Political and Law
Commission.
Commentators believe the charge of serious disciplinary
Violations,
is a hint that the prosecution of Zhou Yongkang
will proceed on a wider range of crimes other than corruption.
The State Council announced on the 24th the dismissal of
Li Dongsheng from his deputy ministerial position at
public security.
State media Xinhua reported that Li Dongsheng was alleged
to be in breach of “serious violations of laws and regulations”.
Several other top officials with close connections to
Zhou Yongkang were also sacked for serious disciplinary
violations,
such as Jiang Jiemin, the former director of the
State Audit Department,
and Li Chongxi, the former Chairman of Sichuan Provincial
People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Tang Baiqiao, President of the Democracy Academy of China,
New York:
“The violations of laws and regulations cover
everything, including coups, usurpation of party and state power,
spliting the party, connections with overseas forces, and so forth.
It hints that in addition to corruption, Zhou Yongkang and
his gangs could be charged with a wider range of offenses.”
Li Dongsheng has been a loyalist of Zhou Yongkang since his
post at the state media CCTV.
When the Communist central mentioned that Li will be removed,
the official listed his titles in the order of, “Office of Central
Leading Group on Dealing with Heritical Religions, followed
by the Vice Minister of Public Security.
Office of Central Leading Group on Dealing with Heritical
Religions is known as the Central 610 Office.
When it was established on June 10 of 1999, it was called the
“Central Leading Group on Dealing with the Falun Gong.”
Then CCTV deputy director Li Dongsheng also served as
deputy director of the Central 610 Office.
Under Li Dongsheng’s supervision, CCTV prime-time show,
Focus, ran a series of programs to discredit Falun Gong.
According to an incomplete data collected by the World
Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong,
Focus broadcasted a total of 102 episodes of programs to
defame Falun Gong between 1999 and 2005.
Meanwhile, the Tiananmen self-immolation case broadcasted
by CCTV has been proved to be false by the United Nations
Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
Tang Baiqiao: “His capture signals the Communist regime is
likely to investigate the 610 Office or the Falun Gong
persecution, such as for the abuse of power.
But, they have only dealt with Li Dongsheng, not mentioning
anything about the 610 Office.
I figure their next move will be huge.
It is going to move towards an irreversible direction.
The move is not up to the Communist leaders to decide,
but the entire trend.”
The Epoch Times revealed that Zhou Yongkang has been
under siege from the periphery to the core,
according to recent investigations and arrests such as the
Sichuan tycoon Liu Han, two top officials in Liaoning
political and legal system,
Zhou Yongkang’s former secretaries, and Beijing National
Security Bureau Director, Liang Ke.
Commentator Xia Xiaoqiang:
“If Zhou Yongkang’s behind-the-scenes boss, Jiang Zemin
and Zeng Qinghong, continue to tie the current leaders into
their own crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong,
the regime central is likely to be forced to reveal
Zhou Yongkang’s crimes in the persecution.”
Xia Xiaoqiang comments that without liquidating the bloody
gangsters such as Jiang Zemin and Zeng Qinghong,
the Chinese society will never be able to walk out of the crisis
and step up towards development.
The incumbent Communist leaders will also pay for the debt
of the bloody gangs.
Commentator Wu Fan: “During the parliamentary meetings,
within this half month, if Zhou Yongkang’s case continues to
langush, the whole show is dead.”
Columnist and commentator Zhang Tianliang had accurately
predicted the downfall of Chongqing Party Secretary, Bo Xilai,
when the former Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau
Director Wang Lijun defected to the U.S. consulate.
He had also pointed out that during the parliamentary meetings,
Bo would be arrested.
Recently, Zhang Tianliang has once again commented that
Zhou Yongkang’s crimes are anticipated to be revealed
during the Communist annual conferences.
